    ]]>     IOM5∙1 is a highly flexible 40 channel I/O module which features the most commonly used I/O signals in wind power plants. The module is designed for the rough environment in a wind turbine and all inputs and outputs are protected by optical insulation from other potentials.

    The IOM5∙1 is equipped with its own processor module, ensuring fast sampling directly on the module and embeds all application-related measurements and scaling. In this way, all measurements are located as a direct part of the process image, thus saving the application time to convert and calculate standard measurements such as rotational speed or acceleration.

    The module offers current limitation to protect against short-circuits and thermal overload. The status of the protection feature and the external power supply can be monitored. The module has a power consumption of maximum 2W.

    ]]>     The GPM5∙1 module is a class 0.5 grid measurements and protection module, fully configurable from the main application. The module has an onboard processor for sampling of grid measurements such as three-phase voltages, currents, phase angles and power vector measurements. The availability of these measurements/calculations as variables takes load from the application, thus making it faster. The GPM5∙1 module enables the application to read the following values directly from the process image, thus reducing the processing time of the application.

    The IFM5∙2 can serve as a media converter module, securing galvanic isolation of networks in the wind turbine and to
    external networks.

    IFM5∙2 offers an advanced, yet simple to use, ring-protection feature which is much faster and more reliable than normally used network equipment in wind turbines and other industrial systems.

    The technology behind this feature is the ERPS standard, which is normally used in high-end back-bone switches at professional network operators/providers.

    This means that in case of for example cable breaks, the recovery time is much faster than "‘standard ring-switches".

    The IFM5∙2 has full support for Virtual LAN configuration (VLAN) in accordance with IEEE 802.1Q and is fully configurable from the application running on the processor module (PCM5∙x).

    It furthermore supports Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE), ensuring full distributed integration of the modules, allowing Ethernet to be available at any position in the wind turbine without additional fibre connections.
